Softball Recap: Hamilton-Wenham Regional Takes a Loss

Hamilton-Wenham Regional had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-7 to make it six. They fell just short of the Ipswich Tigers by a score of 10-9. The Generals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 9-5.

As for Ipswich, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-15. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

For Ipswich's part, the team relied heavily on Cairo Teheen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Teheen has posted since back in April.

Looking ahead, Hamilton-Wenham Regional will head out on the road to square off against Salem Academy Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Generals are facing the Navigator at the right time seeing as the Navigator are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Ipswich does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
