Softball Game Preview: Spring Lions vs. Oak Ridge War Eagles

The Spring Lions will square off against the Oak Ridge War Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Spring's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Aldine 17-0. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won 15 games in a row.

Spring got a massive performance out of Hailey Jones-Calais, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Jones-Calais is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played. Xianne Bettis was another key player, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-3.

Spring hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in 15 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Oak Ridge won against Caney Creek on Tuesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Everything went the War Eagles' way against The Woodlands as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The War Eagles haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Spring's victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Oak Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 21-12.
