Recap: Bellevue East Chieftains vs. Burke Bulldogs
The Bellevue East Chieftains's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They fell to Burke 69-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (61), Bellevue East still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Bellevue East still got an impressive performance from Kris Brown, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Brown hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ammi Williams, who scored 14 points.
Bellevue East has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Burke, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellevue East will take on Lincoln Southwest at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Burke won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Benson at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Benson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday.
