Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Justice Ahiafor and Brewster Gale Lead St. Joseph Academy to Victory

St. Joseph Academy won the last time they faced San Pasqual and things went their way on Wednesday too. The St. Joseph Academy Crusaders snuck past the San Pasqual Golden Eagles with a 59-53 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Leading St. Joseph Academy to victory were Brewster Gale and Justice Ahiafor. Gale went 7 for 13 en route to 19 points, while Ahiafor almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The match was Ahiafor's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dominic Gale, who posted ten points and three steals.

Despite the loss, San Pasqual still got an impressive performance from Mason Turnbaugh, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. That's the most points Turnbaugh has posted since back in December of 2023. Trent Butler was another key player, putting up nine points.

St. Joseph Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for San Pasqual, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

St. Joseph Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-26 loss against La Jolla Country Day on the 10th. As for San Pasqual, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 74-63 defeat against Ramona on the 14th.
