Soccer Game Preview: North Lamar vs. Mount Vernon

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the North Lamar challenge the Mount Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Lamar will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Paris, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was North Lamar who was credited with the win on Friday. North Lamar got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Paris' one. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Mount Vernon took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They skirted past Pleasant Grove 2-1.

Mount Vernon's record now sits at 3-5. As for North Lamar, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-2.

Everything went North Lamar's way against Mount Vernon in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, as North Lamar made off with a 4-0 win. Will North Lamar repeat their success, or does Mount Vernon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
