Softball Recap: Orange Tornadoes vs. University Phoenix
Orange extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They took a 20-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University Phoenix. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-19 last Monday.
As for University, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games.
For University's part, Mariame Kourouma made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kourouma was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Amani Ramos was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lizbeth Santana, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Orange nor University have any future games scheduled.
