Softball Recap: Vernon Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Vernon's offense. They came up short against the Iowa Park Hawks on Monday, falling 15-0. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost nine in a row.

Vernon got a good showing from Aaliyah Moralez, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Iowa Park, they pushed their record up to 17-2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

While Vernon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
