Softball Recap: Seven Straight Road Victories for Alisal

While Alisal put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Stevenson. The Trojans blew past the Pirates 12-0. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Nevaeh Lopez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Alisal let Iliana Cruz and Aaliyah Ruiz run wild. Cruz went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Ruiz went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Ruiz has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Micah Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Alisal pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Stevenson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Coming up, Alisal will face off against King City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stevenson, they will square off against Carmel at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Padres have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season.
