Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Canutillo Eagles, falling 11-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Silver Foxes of the 16-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Nayeli Luna was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Canutillo, they pushed their record up to 13-9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Jefferson is set to challenge their familiar foe Andress at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Canutillo will face off against rival El Paso at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
