Brooke Point had lost five straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it six. They fell 9-4 to the Massaponax Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 back in April.

Landon Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

As for Massaponax, the victory snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 2-16-1 record. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Massaponax's side, Jaxon Beasley and Austin Elliott made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Beasley pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Elliott tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, Beasley posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. In other batting news, Ethan Greene was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Brooke Point will square off against King George at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Foxes will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Black Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Massaponax, they will take on James Monroe at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Yellow Jackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.07 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
