Baseball Recap: Zion-Benton Takes a Loss

Zion-Benton lost against Stevenson on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Zee-Bees fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2. The Zee-Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Michael Gonzalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Zion-Benton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Marabella, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Zion-Benton's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Stevenson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-15 record this season.

Zion-Benton will host Waukegan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Stevenson, they will take on Grayslake Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
