It was a good run, but Fort Bend Kempner unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Victoria East Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Fort Bend Kempner started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Fort Bend Kempner had strong showings from Natalie Zimmerman, who had 14 digs and five assists, and Maylin Gutierrez, who had ten digs. Zimmerman has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Fort Bend Kempner's loss dropped their record down to 15-20. As for Victoria East, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-22 record this season.

Fort Bend Kempner didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Lamar on the 28th. As for Victoria East, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Tuloso-Midway on the 28th.
