Ridgeway came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Melrose Golden Wildcats by a score of 9-5. For the Roadrunners, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 win the Golden Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Brandon Jackson was incredible, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Rushing, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

Ridgeway pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Melrose, they moved to 6-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Ridgeway will square off against Kirby at 3:30 p.m. on May 2. Melrose does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
