Softball Recap: Bucktail Comes Up Short

Bucktail was the 8-4 winner over Northwest Area when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bucks came up short against the Rangers on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The game marked the Bucks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Bucktail's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Northwest Area, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bucktail will face off against Lewisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Green Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.43 runs per game on average), something the Bucks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Northwest Area, they will take on Dallas at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mountaineers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Rangers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
