Baseball Recap: Awaken Christian Takes a Loss

Awaken Christian lost against Cheyenne on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions lost 24-5 to the Desert Shields. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Awaken Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Coy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The Lions are 5-1 when Coy posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

Awaken Christian now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Cheyenne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Awaken Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lincoln County at 1:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Lions are facing the Lynx at the right time seeing as the Lynx are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Cheyenne, they will head out to square off against Doral Academy Red Rock at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Desert Shields' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dragons have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
