Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping them down to 1-17. They lost 12-2 to the Jefferson Democrats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Democrats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-7 on Friday.

As for Jefferson, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. That ten-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Jefferson's part, Carlos B was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave B a new career-high. Mario A was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Franklin will take on rival Grant at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Jefferson is set to face off against their familiar foe Ida B. Wells at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
