Softball Recap: Monticello Drops Highest Score of Season Against Liberty

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monticello). They were the clear victors by a 19-7 margin over the Liberty Indians on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Monticello's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Liberty, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monticello will head out to square off against Cornwall Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty, they will venture away from home to face off against Beacon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.91 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
