Recap: Islip Buccaneers vs. Miller Place Panthers
The Islip Buccaneers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They put the hurt on Miller Place with a sharp 58-38 victory. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Islip with their most commanding win of the season.
Miller Place's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julie Orenzo, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Ava Zicchinelli, who scored 11 points.
Islip now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Miller Place, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Islip does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Miller Place, they will head out on the road to challenge Kings Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kings Park will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Miller Place surely won't give up without a fight.
