Football Recap: Grace Christian Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

Grace Christian Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Carter Green Hornets on Friday, sneaking past 24-21. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Rams were the better team in the second half.

JV Stinson went supernova, rushing for 155 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Another big playmaker for Grace Christian Academy was Blake Perkey, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Grace Christian Academy, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Perkey, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Carter's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Grace Christian Academy and Carter will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rams are set to square off against their familiar foe Chattanooga Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Carter will face off against rival Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
