Baseball Recap: Conotton Valley Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Toronto, Conotton Valley was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Buckeye Trail Warriors. The Rockets were shut out 6-0 the last time they took on the Warriors, so the Rockets were just returning the favor.

The result came thanks to Zack Putnam's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brooks Bower was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerrod Peterson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Conotton Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.

Conotton Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Buckeye Trail, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Buckeye Trail will face off against Monroe Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Conotton Valley will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' contest: after the Warriors faces off against the Seminoles, they'll take on Conotton Valley again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
