Baseball Game Preview: St. Anthony Saints vs. Mayfair Monsoons

The St. Anthony Saints will head out to face off against the Mayfair Monsoons at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

St. Anthony is leaving town to face Mayfair after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. St. Anthony fell just short of Cerritos by a score of 8-7 on Monday.

Benny Lane put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit over four innings pitched. Lane was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Lane wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Shisbey, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Shisbey also posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Mayfair had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Monrovia on Monday.

Spencer Cummins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Aidan Sullivan was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Fox, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
