Football Recap: Hudson Sellers and Kaidavin Ginting Lead the Defense for Annville-Cleona Win

Annville-Cleona won the last time they faced Columbia and Devon Englehart did his part to make sure it happened again. The Dutchmen came out on top against the Crimson Tide by a score of 35-26 on Friday thanks in part to Englehart, who rushed for 205 yards and three TDs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101.4 rushing yards per game.

One reason for the win was Annville-Cleona's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Hudson Sellers and Kaidavin Ginting, who racked up six sacks between them. Ginting also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

Despite the defeat, Columbia saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tyler Brommer rushed for 125 yards and three scores on only 15 carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. The Crimson Tide also got help from Miguel Ocasio, who showed off his sure hands for 88 receiving yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Annville-Cleona and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.5 points over those games. As for Columbia, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Annville-Cleona wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 42-39 victory against Kutztown on the 26th. As for Columbia, they have also already played their next matchup, a 21-14 win against Pequea Valley on the 26th.
