Basketball Recap: Waldron Gets the Win

Waldron's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 51-40 victory over the Tri Titans. The win continues a trend for the Mohawks in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.

Waldron found their leader in sophomore Eli Stewart, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and five blocks. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caige Sheaffer, who shot 67% from the field en route to 16 points.

Waldron's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Tri, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-6.

Coming up, Waldron will head out to square off against Mooresville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edinburgh at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
