Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for New Covenant

Eastern Mennonite came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against New Covenant, but Tristan Isenhour wouldn't allow it. The New Covenant Gryphons walked away with a 52-42 win over the Eastern Mennonite Flames on Thursday thanks in part to Isenhour, who went 6 for 8 en route to 13 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Cole Murdock, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two).

The victory made it two in a row for New Covenant and bumps their season record up to 14-6. As for Eastern Mennonite, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

New Covenant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-45 win against Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy on the 31st. Eastern Mennonite has also already played their next game (against Hargrave Military Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
