Football Game Preview: Sullivan Golden Arrows vs. Park Tudor Panthers

The Sullivan Golden Arrows will take on the Park Tudor Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,014 yards in their previous games.

Sullivan gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Edgewood by a score of 28-21. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Arrows in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Clark French and Braxton Carpenter. French had a great game and rushed for 197 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Carpenter did his best for the losing side, rushing for 123 yards.

Sullivan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Adam McKinley, Xander Freels, Zane Catlin, and Ethan Garrett picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Park Tudor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wes-Del.

Sullivan will have to contain Christopher Harris as he made an impact in Park Tudor's last game. He rushed for 184 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries, and also threw for 323 yards and four touchdowns. With that strong performance, Harris is now averaging an impressive 102.3 rushing yards per game. Park Tudor's leading receiver Chase Sharp was Harris' top target yet again, picking up 129 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Sullivan now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Park Tudor, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Sullivan has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 192.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Park Tudor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 161.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
