The New Oxford Colonials will venture away from home to take on the Red Lion Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. New Oxford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

New Oxford made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Northeastern, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Colonials blew past the Bobcats 17-2 on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Colonials as they're now sitting on three straight.

Miranda Leatherman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Leatherman was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Isabelle Donnelly was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Maura Shirk, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

New Oxford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Red Lion faced off against Central York on Wednesday. The Lions fell 8-3 to the Panthers. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

New Oxford pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Red Lion, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

New Oxford was able to grind out a solid win over Red Lion in their previous matchup back in March, winning 9-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonials since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
