Basketball Recap: Fairfax HomeSchool Takes a Loss

After flying high against Covenant Christian Academy on Monday, Fairfax HomeSchool came back down to earth. The Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks had to suffer through a 88-36 loss at the hands of the Evergreen Christian Eagles. The matchup marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sean Burke went supernova for Evergreen Christian, going 9 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Cole Forbrich, who posted eight points.

Fairfax HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Evergreen Christian, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Fairfax HomeSchool and Evergreen Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Fairfax HomeSchool (ranked 42nd) will meet Loudoun County HomeSchool (ranked 202nd) at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Meanwhile, Evergreen Christian (ranked 13th) will meet Bethel Academy (ranked 96th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
