Softball Game Preview: Serena Huskers vs. Somonauk Bobcats

For the second straight game, Serena will face off against Somonauk. The Huskers will welcome the Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Serena will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Serena's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Somonauk 10-0. The Huskers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by ten runs or more this season.

Maddie Glade made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lanee Cole, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Jenna Setchell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Serena hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive matchups.
