Football Recap: Mynderse Academy Takes a Loss

If Mynderse Academy was feeling good fresh off their 28-6 takedown of South Seneca/Romulus last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils fell 24-16 to the Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles on Friday. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Clyde-Savannah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but John Whitfield led the charge by rushing for 71 yards and one score, while also throwing for 112 yards and one TD. Another back making a difference was Garrett Carr, who rushed for 129 yards and one touchdown.

Mynderse Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Clyde-Savannah, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mynderse Academy will face off against Finney/Northstar Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clyde-Savannah, after both having extra time off, they and South Seneca will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
