Softball Recap: Brewer's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Brewer hadn't done well against Brooks recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Lions 6-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Breia Rusk was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheyenne Lucas, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Brewer now has a winning record of 10-9-1. As for Brooks, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brewer will head out to challenge Cullman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Brooks, they will face off against Wilson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
