Baseball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lakeland last Monday, Riverside came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against the Mid Valley Spartans on Wednesday, falling 12-6. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Mid Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Riverside and Mid Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 99th) will meet Old Forge (ranked 241st) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mid Valley will square off against Honesdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (83 vs. 382).
