Football Recap: Susquehanna Takes a Loss

Susquehanna extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were outmatched by the Lakeland Chiefs and fell 42-7. The Sabers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

As for Lakeland, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lakeland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from David Naniewicz, who threw for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 65 yards and one score. Naniewicz didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made three total tackles. Gavin Roberts was in the mix too, providing Lakeland with two TDs.

Looking ahead, Susquehanna will challenge Riverside at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lakeland, they will face off against Dunmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bucks' defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so the Chiefs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
