Softball Game Preview: Central Academy Cougars vs. Anson Bearcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Central Academy Cougars challenge Anson Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Central Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against West Stanly on Tuesday. They lost 9-1 to the Colts.

Central Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Easterly, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Anson's offense. They came up short against Piedmont on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Anson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Central Academy took their victory against Anson when the teams last played on March 4th by a conclusive 17-0. Will Central Academy repeat their success, or does Anson has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
