Softball Recap: San Manuel Triumphs

After losing to Bagdad the last time they met, San Manuel decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Miners walked away with an 18-14 victory over the Sultans on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Miners.

Cienna Maghinay was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Laila Ruiz, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.

San Manuel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

San Manuel's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Bagdad, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.

Coming up, San Manuel will challenge Hayden at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bagdad does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
