Volleyball Recap: Brawley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Brawley lost against Central back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Brawley actually scored more points across those five sets (96-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-20, 10-25, 25-14, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Brawley still got an impressive performance from Sophie Ruiz, who had 18 digs and five assists. Ruiz has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christine Layaye, who had nine digs and one assist.

Brawley's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Central, their record now sits at 20-14.

Brawley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Faith Lutheran on the 10th. As for Central, they will face off against Southwest EC at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
