Baseball Recap: Peoria Notre Dame Extends Winning Streak to Three

Peoria Notre Dame had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Danville Vikings get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 25-0 on Monday.

Jude Lichtenberger looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since April 1st.

On the hitting side, Thomas Mickels was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony LeFante, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Peoria Notre Dame now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Danville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-16.

Peoria Notre Dame wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-8 loss against Champaign Central on the 2nd. As for Danville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 defeat against Normal West on the 2nd.
