Baseball Game Preview: Oshkosh West Wildcats vs. Wautoma Hornets

The Oshkosh West Wildcats will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Wautoma Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Oshkosh West is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They lost 10-0 to Waupun on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Wautoma came up short against Omro on Tuesday and fell 9-4.

Carson Rose was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Rose was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Oshkosh West skirted past Wautoma 1-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
