The El Cerrito Gauchos will head out on the road to face off against the Saint Mary's Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. El Cerrito's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Saint Mary's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
El Cerrito took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Washington with a sharp 12-1 win. Considering the Gauchos have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Logan Ferguson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ferguson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Those two hits gave McCormick a new career-high. Keegan Chin also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
El Cerrito always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Saint Mary's duked it out with Marin Catholic on Tuesday. The Panthers lost 8-2 to the Wildcats.
Bryce Gilmore was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
