Baseball Recap: Milton Comes Up Short

Milton had lost 12 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-12 to make it 13. They came up short against the Mount Carmel Tornadoes, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on April 6th.

As for Mount Carmel, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1. Considering they have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Mount Carmel's part, Gabe Yuskoski was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Yuskoski has posted since back in March of 2025. Lukas Carpenter was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Milton will be playing at home against Lewisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Green Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.23 runs per game on average), something the Black Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mount Carmel, they are taking a road trip to take on Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Ironmen have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
