Basketball Game Preview: Alice Coyotes vs. Gregory-Portland Wildcats

Alice hasn't had much luck against Gregory-Portland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Alice Coyotes are taking a road trip to challenge the Gregory-Portland Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Alice ended up a good deal behind Flour Bluff and lost 59-43. While the Coyotes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hornets 18-12 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Gregory-Portland on Tuesday. They came out on top against Ray by a score of 77-66. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Alice now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Gregory-Portland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Alice might still be hurting after the 70-49 loss they got from Gregory-Portland when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Alice avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
