Recap: Potter-Dix Coyotes vs. South Platte Blue Knights

The Potter-Dix Coyotes came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past South Platte with a 47-43 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Potter-Dix also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

It was another big night for Brayden Kasten, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The matchup was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Mcconnell, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.

Several Blue Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Estrada, who scored six points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. Conner Evans was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.

Potter-Dix is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for South Platte, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Potter-Dix and Kimball will face off on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Kimball focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday. As for South Platte, they will head out on the road to face off against Wallace at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Wallace will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
