Football Recap: Huntsville Falls to Brenham in First Game of Season

Huntsville had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 34-13 to the Brenham Cubs on Friday. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 39-35 to the Cubs when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zarien Adolphe, who rushed for 75 yards, and also threw for 121 yards and one touchdown. Another back making a difference was Traeshawn Brown, who gained 139 total yards.

A big part of Brenham's win came down to the chemistry between Hudson Hartstack and his top target Chris Guidry. Hartstack threw for 149 yards and three TDs while Guidry picked up 99 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntsville will venture away from home to square off against Bryan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brenham, they will head out to take on Sterling at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
