Preview: Thomas Jefferson Vikings vs. Carver College and Career Academy Wolverines

Having just played yesterday, the Thomas Jefferson Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Carver College and Career Academy Wolverines at 7:15 p.m. on February 8th. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Thomas Jefferson sitting on three straight victories and Carver College and Career Academy on ten.
Thomas Jefferson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on King William with a sharp 79-59 win. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Thomas Jefferson with their most commanding win of the season.
Cameron Sampson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaymon Harris, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, even though King William scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Carver College and Career Academy still came out on top. Carver College and Career Academy took their game against King William 70-59. Given Carver College and Career Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while King William is ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carver College and Career Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Hill, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. Hill hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tyson Marsh, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Thomas Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Carver College and Career Academy, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1.
Everything went Thomas Jefferson's way against Carver College and Career Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 as Thomas Jefferson made off with a 62-41 victory.
