Baseball Recap: Discovery Takes a Loss

Sun Valley Magnet hit Discovery with a five-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Pioneers, falling 16-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

This is the second loss in a row for Discovery and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Sun Valley Magnet, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

Coming up, Discovery will venture away from home to take on Valor Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sun Valley Magnet, they will take on CALS Early College at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.73 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
