Basketball Recap: Oxford Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Yale

Oxford won the last time they faced Yale and things went their way on Monday too. The Oxford Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 win over the Yale Bulldogs. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 45th).

Oxford's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Yale, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-1.

Oxford will have a chance to go back-to-back against Yale: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
