Softball Recap: Gladwin Victorious

Gladwin's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Pinconning Spartans 13-12. The high-scoring effort was just what the Flying G's needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Gladwin got a massive performance out of Addison Tyslicky, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Tyslicky has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Winchester, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Gladwin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Gladwin's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Pinconning, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gladwin will head out to face off against Beaverton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinconning, they will venture away from home to challenge All Saints Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
