Basketball Recap: Kettle Run Falls to Millbrook in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Kettle Run kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Millbrook Pioneers, falling 41-20. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Despite the defeat, Kettle Run saw an underclassman step up: freshman Deviyah Williams dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Millbrook's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maia Parks, who posted nine points and six rebounds. Those nine points gave Parks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Moreland, who earned eight points along with five boards and three steals.

Millbrook has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Kettle Run wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 36-21 loss against Meridian on the 4th. As for Millbrook, they have also already played their next game, a 45-36 defeat against Tuscarora on the 8th.
