Baseball Game Preview: Halifax Wildcats vs. Tri-Valley Bulldogs

The Halifax Wildcats will square off against the Tri-Valley Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tri-Valley will be up against a hot Halifax squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 11. The Wildcats never let East Juniata get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Monday. The matchup marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season.

Dayton Bittner was incredible, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cohen Bechtel, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Halifax always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Juniata only posted an OBP of .263.

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley made easy work of Williams Valley on Monday and carried off a 14-4 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Halifax's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Tri-Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Halifax skirted past Tri-Valley 6-5 in their previous matchup back in June of 2022. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
