Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beachside). They blew past the Global Outreach Charter Academy Kodiaks 74-45 on Tuesday. Given the Barracudas' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Kodiaks are ranked 600th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beachside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ganyon Beckstead, who posted 17 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jeff Wholey, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

Global Outreach Charter Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Camilo Sanchez, who had 12 points, and Jensie Lugo-Torres, who put up 14 points.

Beachside's record is now 3-1. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Beachside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-45 win against Temple Christian Academy on the 5th. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-23 defeat against Mandarin on the 4th.
