Carter Brooks gave up the fewest hits he has since back in April on Thursday. Illini Bluffs had no answer to Brooks as he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Brooks has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Brooks and Havana will be playing at home against Cuba/Spoon River Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Brooks had to take a defeat the last time the two teams duked it out, losing their matchup back in May of 2024 4-1.
